Berkshire Lakes being a deed restricted community, our covenants provide for the formation of a number of committees to support the Board of Directors in ensuring the quality, consistency and value of the community will be maintained. Committee members are your neighbors, dedicated to the upkeep and well being of the community and volunteering their time and energies to keep and enhance the beauty of our community. Listed below are the various committees. To view a committee, makeup and responsibility, click on its respective link.
Architectural Review Board (ARB) The architectural review board is established to ensure all new construction, pools, screen cages, additions to buildings, exterior alterations, irrigation wells and major landscape changes meet established specifications and maintain the required property line set backs. Residents seeking to make such improvements are required to submit 3 sets of plans and completed specifications forms, to the ARB for approval. Questions regarding this process should be directed to the Berkshire Lakes office who will ensure you receive a prompt answer. Failure to comply could result in a fine or removal of the modification if out of specification. Work can not be started before written approval is received from the ARB.
The landscape committee was formed to ensure the landscape quality and beauty of our common grounds is maintained. In addition to the common grounds landscape this committee's responsibility includes the perimeter fence, irrigation system, bicycle and walking path and support buildings. For most of the year this committee functions with just one person, the chairman / director. However, as major projects are foreseen, residents are recruited to assist the chairman in soliciting and reviewing bids, contract analysis and the formulation of recommendations to the board. The responsibilities and organization of this committee are listed below:

Our lakes are in fine condition and all fountains are functioning properly.

There are 1639 units within the Berkshire Lakes complex and many residents are unable to visit the clubhouse, where community information is generally available, nor are they able to attend board and information meetings. The Master Association, in order to provide community relevant information to all residents, created the "Scene around Berkshire" a quarterly issued newsletter, which contains information on the budget, assessments, work in progress, director reports, activities and club news to name a few categories. The editor of the newsletter is Robert (Bob) Luparello, who donates his time freely, to edit all input, format the master copy and make it ready for reproduction. Information from the various associations within Berkshire Lakes is requested, thereby creating a more universal appeal. If you have information that could be put into the newsletter please contact Bob.
There are two tennis courts available adjacent to the Clubhouse, to those members who enjoy either knocking a ball about or the intensive competitive game. Weekday mornings, including Saturday, are scheduled between men or lady players on alternate days. (See Calendar for schedule.)
